We purchased this for a 9 year old’s Halloween party & the kids loved it! With so many tasks, the hiding doesn’t need to be challenging. Their favorite part (even more than solving the puzzles) was the curses and cures. This is our 4th or 5th purchase and I’m sure we’ll be back. Thanks for another great game!

I love Queen of Themes! So many holidays and celebrations have been scaled back due to the pandemic but thanks to Queen of Themes games we have still had lots of fun! “Clues, Spells and Curses” was perfect for this Halloween when I had four 10 year olds in my backyard. I modified the game slightly so the four of them could play cooperatively instead of competitively. They had a blast hunting for the clues, acting “cursed” and working together to reverse the curses. And then, with the exact right amount of challenging, they were able to solve the riddle. The game is designed for, I’d say, 3-6 teams of 3-5 people (9-30 people total) to play competitively. It would definitely take a solid amount of time (up to an hour, perhaps) to complete. It would be fun for adults too, especially if you have theatrical people who can really “sell” it when they’ve been cursed. I modified the game by hiding the clues and curses in identical envelopes. I used ALL the curses because that was so much of the fun. I also hid little pouches of the “money” and real candy. They ran around the yard searching Easter Egg style for the envelopes and pouches. I advised them to take turns opening envelopes so they wouldn’t risk multiple teammates getting cursed at the same time. My husband acted as the keeper of the spells. When someone got cursed, they went to him to barter, haggle and pay for the needed spell to reverse the curse. He accepted payment of candy or “money” or even taking a video of them all acting like chickens together. It was hilarious and adorable. I acted as the keeper of the Apothecary where they could obtain magical items. So after they had the spell, they came to me and would have to repeat the barter and haggle to get their items. Once all the clues were found and all the curses reversed, they set to work solving the clues to find the name of the witch. When they called out the witch’s name, I brought out a witch piñata which they beat to finally vanquish their foe (and get more candy & treats in the process). It was tremendous good fun. Including eating lunch, the party was exactly two hours. Perfect! Thanks, Queen of Themes!!

The kids are going to love this on Halloween. I’ve been trying to gather all the things and decorations needed. I had to re-read the instructions many times to understand the part of each item gets an envelope and gets hidden.
